Emily Martin, also known as Em, creates music that is a little dreamy, a tinge edgy and a shade unpolished. Her songwriting is relatable, harmonious yet stormy. Her music fits into a folk singer songwriter genre drawing inspiration from Gillian Welch and Joni Michell.

Originally from the hills of western Massachusetts where she taught herself guitar and banjo, she now lives in Asheville, NC. Em has always felt that music is a universal sound that can aid in healing and create waves of alliance. Knowing music was an art form she wanted to share, she didn’t expect the feedback she got while busking and attending open mics. As an emerging artist she has been open to the creative process while collaborating with others.
