Rachel Angel Music @ Riverside Drive
Combining poetic and artful songwriting with punchy singing, Rachel Angel’s brand of alt-country and rock is as exciting as it is sincere. A Miami native, Rachel left home at eighteen, planting roots in San Francisco and New York City, where a crisis of mental health and wellness brought her back to Miami to recover. She embarked on a journey to sobriety, health, and personal strength and released her third EP, Highway Songs (2020) on Miami boutique label Public Works Records. While in Miami, Angel continued to gig and grow her hometown base, playing sold out shows and landing the title of Best Songwriter of 2021 by Miami New Times.
While locked away in the pandemic, she struck up a collaboration and friendship with Philly based producers Brian McTear and Amy Morrissey who recorded and produced her premier full length record, featuring players from The War on Drugs. Her travels took her to Valencia, Spain where she completed a masters in Performance and Production at Berklee College of Music and immediately following, a solo US tour of the east coast. She landed in the beautiful hills of Asheville, NC, where she currently resides. Her album, Midnite Heart Attack is available on streaming platforms worldwide.
