A New Chapter for Ginger’s Revenge: Why We Made the Switch to Cans

If you’ve spotted our cans out in the wild recently – you’re not imagining things!

Our new packaging has officially rolled out across North Carolina and South Carolina, with Tennessee coming Spring of 2026. It’s a big shift for us, and one we’ve been working toward thoughtfully behind the scenes for quite some time.

While the look may be new, what’s inside – and what we stand for – remains the same. This transition is about evolving how we show up in the world, while staying grounded in everything that’s made Ginger’s Revenge what it is today.


What Hasn’t Changed

The ginger beer you know and love is exactly the same. We didn’t change our recipes or swap ingredients, and we definitely didn’t cut corners.

We’re still brewing with real, thoughtfully sourced ingredients – fresh ginger, organic cane sugar, bright citrus, and carefully selected botanicals that bring each flavor to life. That signature balance of spice, refreshment, and complexity? Still very much intact!

From the beginning, our approach has been rooted in quality first. We believe that what goes into the can should speak for itself – no shortcuts, no unnecessary additives – just ingredients that actually taste delicious to create a beverage that makes an impact.


Why We Made the Switch

A large part of this decision is something simple: impact.

Aluminum is one of the most recyclable materials available. Unlike many materials that degrade over time, aluminum can be recycled again and again without losing quality. That means less waste, less energy used in production, and a more sustainable lifecycle overall.

Cans are also lighter than glass, which reduces emissions during transportation. When you zoom out, that adds up in a meaningful way – especially as we continue to grow and reach new markets.

And then there’s the everyday experience.

Cans are easier to bring along – whether you’re heading out on the lake, packing a cooler for a picnic, or gathering with friends around a fire. They’re durable, portable, and fit seamlessly into the kinds of moments our ginger beer is made for.

For us, this shift isn’t just about packaging – it’s about aligning our choices with the places and communities where we belong.


What This Means for What’s Next

This transition also opens the door to something bigger!

Cans allow us to expand our reach – to show up in more places, connect with new communities, and be part of even more moments. From mountaintop hangs to beach days, from concerts to campfires, we’re now able to go wherever the good times are.

As we begin expanding into Tennessee and continue growing beyond, this format gives us the flexibility to scale in a way that feels both intentional and exciting.

But growth, for us, has never been about getting bigger just for the sake of it. It’s about access, connection, and creating more opportunities for people to discover and enjoy what we make.


How We Thought About the Design

When we made the move to cans, we didn’t just think about the container – we thought about how to make the experience even clearer, more expressive, and more helpful for you.

Every design decision was intentional, and we think Atlas Branding knocked it out of the park!

We made flavor easier to spot. One of the biggest updates is right on the front of the can. We brought the flavor forward, making it more prominent and easier to identify at a glance. Whether you’re reaching into a cooler or scanning a shelf, you should know exactly what you’re about to enjoy.

We added “Hard Ginger Beer” front and center. As we grow into new markets, clarity matters. Adding “Hard Ginger Beer” to the front helps new folks immediately understand what we’re all about. It eliminates confusion between our beverage and a non-alcoholic ginger beer, as well as educates consumers and piques the curiosity of an adventurous drinker.

We introduced flavor call-outs to guide the experience. You’ll notice small notes and icons along the side of each can. These are there to give you a quick sense of what to expect. Think of them as a little nudge in the right direction, whether you’re choosing something new or revisiting a favorite.

And of course, the band is still together! We couldn’t imagine Ginger’s Revenge without the musicians that represent our brand. Our beloved illustrated characters made the move with us, bringing the same personality, energy, and sense of fun to this new format.
